Answer:

Yes. If your medical condition is determined to be related to your work. However, in Iowa your employer and/or their insurance company generally get to decide which doctors, therapists and other medical providers that you see for your injuries. In addition to paying the medical expenses they are supposed to pay you for your roundtrip mileage expenses going to and from doctors' appointments, the pharmacy, etc. Effective July 1, 2009, the per mile rate is $.55.
